rebuild by design

Beginning in my junior year of college, I became involved with Rebuild by Design. My involvement began in a class that's timeline coincided with the actual design competition and I was challenged to come up with my own solution for the competition. Following that class, I was privileged to have the opportunity to be a research assistant for Rebuild. My interest evolved and grew and eventually culminated in my full time position there for the two years after college. Below I have curated some of my favorite work that I was able to do during my time with them.

Elements of Effective Engagement

The Best Practices for Government in Community Engagement

As the seven funded Hurricane Sandy Design Competition projects are implemented, Rebuild has observed many creative community engagement strategies from the project teams. “Best Practices for Elements of Engagement” captures these observations, highlighting effective engagement practices among the seven projects.

Projected Timetable for Hurricane Sandy Design Competition Projects

As Rebuild has been tracking the progress and implementation of the Hurricane Sandy Design Competition projects, we've taken note of key past, present, and upcoming milestones including Construction Start Dates, Environmental Impact Statements, and Records of Decision. Please note, that although the projects are on a rigid timeline, some of these dates are likely to change. Check out the project timetable matrix.

Events by Design

During my time at Rebuild, I was entrusted with planning a few events. Now if you have ever planned an event, you know what a hugely collaborative effort it must be. I am so lucky to have been able to plan the following events with the help and support of my incredible Rebuild by Design team:

1. 2 Years Later
2. Policy by Design
3. Engagement by Design
